Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a security/monitoring professional for overnight shifts at our emergency housing shelter in Kingsport, Tennessee. The role focuses on safeguarding staff and clients while enforcing shelter rules and policies.

You will monitor resident behavior, guide clients with a trauma-informed approach, and handle intake procedures to maintain accurate bed lists and shelter records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Six months experience working with the public in security or social service environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitors clients to ensure compliance with program and shelter rules.
• Directs clients in a trauma-informed way of appropriate behavior to stay in the program.
• Provides security for building and grounds and monitors activities.
• Performs intake for clients checking into the shelter and maintains intake bed list.
