Job summary

Lakewood Ranch Medical Center is seeking a Security Officer (Class D License) for full-time night shifts (11pm-7am) to safeguard patients, staff and visitors in a hospital environment.

Responsibilities include securing premises, assisting people, and timely reporting with a focus on service excellence. Requires 1 year security experience, valid Class D license, and IAHSS/BLS/CPI training within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience as a security officer or related position in an acute care setting
• Certification for Safety and Security Procedures IAHSS training within 90 days of hire
• BLS within 90 days of hire
• CPI within 90 days of hire
• Class D Security License required
• High school education or GED equivalent
• Must be able to handle stressful situations
• Communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills, and customer service skills required

Responsibilities

• Performs the duties of Security Officer to maintain the safety and security of the hospital.
• Secures the premises from unauthorized entry.
• Provides support and assistance, both physical and psychological, to staff, patients, and visitors.
• Prepares and submits reports in an accurate and timely manner.
• Communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills, and customer service skills required.
• Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times.
• Other duties as assigned.
