Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System in Council Bluffs, IA, seeks a Registered Nurse for night shift (7p–7a) with a rotating weekend and holiday schedule. This position provides patient care across ages, following established protocols and involving family in care decisions.

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited school of nursing preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program required.

Responsibilities

• Provides appropriate care specific to the age and population of the patient, ensuring understanding and comfort with treatment.
• Performs an initial and ongoing nursing assessment to determine care needs and plans discharge.
• Develops and revises the plan of care in collaboration with physicians and other disciplines.
• Implements interventions per the care plan, following nursing protocols and standards of care.
• Evaluates patient outcomes and caregiver understanding, and communicates changes via SBAR at shift change.
• Maintains professional behavior and participates in performance improvement activities.
