Schedule: Night Shift, 7p–7a, rotating weekends and holidays. Responsible for delivering quality nursing care and coordinating care plans with the healthcare team. Incentives may include shift differentials, tuition assistance, academic sponsorship with Methodist College, and free parking.

Responsibilities

• Provides age- and population-appropriate nursing care and comfort for patients according to Population Specific Criteria.
• Identifies opportunities for individualized patient care and excellent customer service.
• Performs initial and ongoing nursing assessments to determine patients' care needs.
• Incorporates patient and family input into assessments as appropriate.
• Prioritizes data collection based on immediate patient needs.
• Uses assessment findings to inform discharge planning.
• Develops and revises plans of care to address nursing needs for optimum outcomes.
• Collaborates with physicians and other disciplines as appropriate.
• Provides patient/matient-family teaching related to health care problems.
• Plans for ongoing care and referrals for discharge or transfer.
• Follows nursing protocols and standards of care for the unit.
• Maintains current nursing knowledge based on standards and research literature.
• Administers medications accurately and considers medication effects on patients.
• Evaluates patient responses to care and interventions to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Monitors and documents patient responses to interventions.
• Assesses patient capabilities and limitations related to nursing and medical care.
• Continuously monitors patients and supports caregivers post-discharge.
• Delivers complete verbal or written communications as required.
