Job summary

MercyOne in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Orthopedic & Trauma team. You will provide evidence-based care to patients with orthopedic injuries, trauma, and post-surgical needs, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal outcomes.

This full-time position offers competitive pay, night shifts, and a sign-on bonus up to $20,000 with relocation assistance. Current Iowa RN license, Associate Degree in Nursing, BLS, and ACLS for telemetry are required or

Qualifications

Associate Degree in Nursing is required.
BSN is preferred.
Current Iowa RN license is required.
BLS certification is required.
ACLS is required for telemetry-capable units.

Responsibilities

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
Care for orthopedic, trauma, post-surgical, medical, telemetry, and neurologic patients.
Administer medications and treatments safely.
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, care managers, and other healthcare professionals.
Educate patients and families throughout their care journey.
Coordinate discharge planning and transitions of care.
Supervise and support LPNs, Patient Care Assistants, and other team members.
Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed.
