Job summary

Elmhurst Hospital is seeking an RN House Operations Administrator to provide hospital-wide clinical and operational leadership on night shifts. The HOA will oversee patient flow, staffing, safety, and emergency response, acting as the central decision-maker when senior leadership is unavailable.

The role emphasizes real-time resource management, cross-unit coordination, and escalation of urgent issues to maintain safe, high-quality patient care across all units.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; Master's preferred.
• Active RN license in Illinois.
• 3+ years of progressive nursing experience with leadership roles.
• 1+ year in critical care or high-acuity setting preferred.
• Strong decision-making and real-time problem solving.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide house-wide supervisory clinical and operational authority during shifts.
• Direct real-time patient flow, staffing deployment, and resource allocation.
• Lead emergency response and safety activities hospital-wide.
• Monitor and coach staff performance; escalate issues as needed.
• Collaborate with leadership and HR on investigations or actions.
• Maintain situational awareness of capacity, acuity, and resource needs.
