Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of respiratory therapy techniques for patients of varying ages.
• Follows best practices to reduce potential medication errors.
• Performs duties for the assigned shift and documents data in the medical record.
• Administers respiratory therapy treatments and monitors effects.
• Sets up and monitors ventilators and airway management.
• Performs arterial punctures to obtain gas analysis samples.
• Maintains infection control and equipment safety.
• Provides teaching plans based on patient learning needs with family involvement as appropriate.
