Job summary

Mercyhealth in northern Illinois seeks a Respiratory Therapist to provide all respiratory care duties as part of an interdisciplinary team. Three 12-hour night shifts in a hospital setting.

You will initiate, monitor, and wean invasive and non-invasive ventilation, document care in the EMR, and respond to emergent situations. A graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program with IL or WI license and CPR/NRP certifications is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• RRT or CRT with certification; must earn RRT within 1 year if eligible.
• CPR and NRP within 90 days where required.
• Illinois and/or Wisconsin Respiratory Care Practitioner license.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine therapies to evaluate cardiopulmonary status.
• Initiate, monitor, and wean invasive and non-invasive ventilation.
• Assess and adjust treatment per physician orders and protocols.
• Document patient care and maintain EMR records.
• Operate and troubleshoot ventilators and related devices.
• Respond to emergent care and assist with resuscitation as needed.
