Job summary

Orlando Health, Inc. is seeking a Respiratory Therapist, Reg IV for the Reunion Freestanding ED in Orlando. You will provide advanced respiratory care, ventilatory support, and diagnostic services across units, ensuring patient safety and high-quality documentation.

The role emphasizes clinical ladder duties, mentorship of practicum students, and strong collaboration with the healthcare team. Licensure and ALS/ACLS as required by unit.

Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Respiratory Care or Cardiopulmonary Sciences.
• Intermediate Critical Care training per Orlando Health ladder.
• Basic computer/mechanical training required.
• Active Florida RRT license.
• NBRC RRT credential with NBRC active status updates.
• Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
• ALS as appropriate to site.
• Preferred: active AARC/FSRC membership.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competency in respiratory therapeutics and equipment.
• Maintains accurate documentation.
• Combines patient care with technical expertise through analytical reasoning.
• Communicates openly with the health care team.
• Maintains quality control of ABG analyzers and blood gas analysis.
• Keeps attendance compliant with Orlando Health policies.
• Provides care across non-critical, intermediate, and ICU units.
• Applies skills per Guardian Clinical Ladder roles (preceptor, mentor, educator).
• Instructs clinical practicum students.
• Assesses age-appropriate care needs and growth/development considerations.
