Job summary

Orlando Health, Inc. is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (Reg IV) for the Reunion Freestanding ED. The role requires assessment and treatment of breathing disorders, initiating therapies, and maintaining patient records, with proficiency in ventilators, diagnostics, and equipment.

The position operates in a night/variable full-time schedule within the HW RV Respiratory Care department. Strong clinical ladder involvement and preceptorship are expected; ADA and FMLA standards apply.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Respiratory Care or Cardiopulmonary Sciences.
• Florida RRT license required; NBRC credential required.
• Intermediate Critical Care training as defined on Orlando Health’s Respiratory Clinical Ladder.
• Basic computer/mechanical training required.
• Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.
• Advanced Life Support as appropriate per unit/site.
• Preferred: Active membership in AARC and FSRC.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competency in respiratory therapeutics and non-invasive ventilation.
• Maintains accurate patient documentation.
• Uses arterial blood gas analyzers and related equipment for gas transport and acid/base determination.
• Communicates effectively with the health care team.
• Provides care in non-critical, intermediate, and intensive care units.
• Instructs clinical practicum students.

Associate of Science in Respiratory Care or Cardiopulmonary Sciences

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) NBRC Credential

Florida Licensure as RRT

BLS/Healthcare Provider Certification
