Job summary

Extended Care is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist for full-time night shifts at a Rivaya Care affiliated facility in Des Plaines, IL. You will set up and operate respiratory devices, provide emergency care, and maintain patient therapy charts.

Qualifications include NBRC certification, current RCP license, BLS/CPR, and ICU/EMC experience. Benefits include health/dental insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and daily pay options.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited respiratory therapy program or technical college course.
• Registration or NBRC certification.
• Current RCP license in state of practice.
• Respiratory care, emergency care, and ICU experience.
• Must possess a valid driver license and auto insurance.
• Current BLS/CPR certification from AHA or Red Cross.
• Strong knowledge of pulmonary function and pulmonary rehabilitation.
• Experience with respiratory equipment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient responses to therapy (ABG, vital signs, lung function) and consult with physicians for adverse reactions.
• Work with a health care team to assist with medical procedures.
• Set up and operate devices (gas administration, ventilators, aerosol generators).
• Follow treatment parameters and maintain safety standards.
• Provide emergency care (CPR, chest compressions) as needed.
• Inspect, test, clean, and maintain respiratory equipment.
• Maintain charts with patient ID and therapy information.
• Measure ABGs, read prescriptions, assess patient condition.
• Relay blood analysis results to physicians.
