Job summary

Buckeye Care & Rehabilitation in Ohio is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to grow our post-acute respiratory program. The role focuses on NIV therapies (BiPAP/CPAP) and works with nursing leadership to expand services and support admissions.

The position offers a full-time night shift (10:00 PM–10:00 AM) with additional hours possible. You'll contribute to developing a growing respiratory program and deliver high-quality care to residents.

Qualifications

• Current Ohio Respiratory Care Professional License.
• RRT or CRT credential.
• Experience with NIV (BiPAP/CPAP) preferred.
• Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, or acute care.
• Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.
• Reliable, team-oriented, and patient-centered.

Responsibilities

• Assess, initiate, monitor, and manage BiPAP/CPAP (NIV) therapy.
• Perform respiratory assessments and identify residents who may benefit from respiratory services.
• Administer respiratory treatments and therapies as ordered.
• Assist residents with incentive spirometer use and pulmonary hygiene.
• Educate residents, families, and staff on respiratory equipment and therapies.
• Document assessments, treatments, and therapy compliance in the EMR.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing, admissions, and clinical leadership.
• Support respiratory evaluations for prospective admissions and identify residents who may benefit from respiratory services.
• Assist with the continued development and growth of the facility's respiratory therapy program.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and respiratory education for staff.
• Provide additional respiratory therapy coverage, including occasional supplemental or on-call support, as needed.
