Job summary

Buckeye Care & Rehabilitation is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to enhance our post-acute respiratory care program, focusing on NIV therapy (BiPAP/CPAP). You will collaborate with nursing leadership to expand services, support admissions, and deliver high-quality respiratory care.

The role requires Ohio licensure, RRT/CRT credentials, and experience in long-term or acute care. Night shift opportunities and growth potential are provided in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Current Ohio Respiratory Care Professional License.
• RRT or CRT credential.
• Experience with or willingness to learn non-invasive ventilation (BiPAP/CPAP).
• Skilled nursing, long-term care, or acute care experience preferred.
• Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.
• Reliable, team-oriented, and patient-centered.

Responsibilities

• Assess, initiate, monitor, and manage NIV therapy.
• Perform respiratory assessments and identify residents who may benefit from respiratory services.
• Administer respiratory treatments and therapies as ordered.
• Assist residents with incentive spirometer use and pulmonary hygiene.
• Educate residents, families, and staff on respiratory equipment and therapies.
• Document assessments, treatments, and therapy in the EMR.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing, admissions, and clinical leadership.
• Support respiratory evaluations for prospective admissions and identify residents who may benefit from respiratory services.
• Assist with the continued development and growth of the facility's respiratory therapy program.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and respiratory education for staff.
• Provide additional respiratory therapy coverage, including occasional supplemental or on-call support.
