Job summary

Cook County Health & Hospitals System seeks a Radiology Technologist for the John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital Radiology department. The role involves taking x‑ray radiographs, preparing rooms and equipment, and adhering to infection control and radiation safety standards.

The position is under SEIU Union 73, with a shift of 12:00AM–8:00AM (weekend rotation) and a pay range of $32.051–$38.620 hourly, commensurate with experience. Internal candidates are preferred before external applicants.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of anatomical positioning and basic body physiology.
• Thorough knowledge of operation of radiographic equipment.
• Knowledge of infection control and safety policies.
• Ability to stand, pull, reach, and bend.

Responsibilities

• Takes x-ray radiographs of various portions of the body following prescribed techniques.
• Prepares and administers contrast agents as needed for radiography.
• Ensures infection control and radiation safety measures.
• Sends images to PACS system and enters patient information.
