Job summary

NorthShore University HealthSystem is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform radiographic exams at Skokie Hospital. The role involves preparing patients, obtaining histories, explaining procedures, and ensuring comfort while delivering high-quality images.

Responsibilities include independent operation of radiology equipment, timely RIS submissions, and equipment/stock checks. Per diem shifts may include additional sites to meet scheduling needs; CPR, ARRT, and IEMA licensure are required

Qualifications

• Education: certificate or associate degree from an accredited radiology program.
• Certification: CPR certification; ARRT required within 2 years of employment.
• License: IEMA licensing required.
• Experience: previous radiology experience preferred.
• Skills: excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for exam, obtain and record history, explain procedures and position patients.
• Perform radiographic exams and ensure optimum image quality.
• Review radiographs and submit information/images to RIS promptly.
• Operate equipment independently with minimal supervision.
• Check supplies, maintain department cleanliness and organize stock.
• Assist in printing films and retrieving reports.
• May work at other NorthShore sites to cover schedules.
• Report environmental and equipment issues to appropriate personnel.
