Job summary

Celgard is seeking a QC Lab Tech in Charlotte, NC to join the Quality team. You will perform standard and non-routine QC tests, maintain calibration, and ensure data integrity in a 12-hour night shift (6:00pm–6:00am) on a 2-2-3 schedule within a plastics separator manufacturing setting.

You will support adherence to automotive requirements, document test results, and collaborate across departments while following ISO 9001/ TS16949 guidelines and Celgard safety standards.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of hands-on lab experience or Celgard operations exposure.
• Quality Control Lab testing experience for release of manufactured products preferred.
• Previous lab experience in analytical or R&D environment preferred.
• Experience with polymer resins is preferred.
• Experience documenting test results/observations required.
• ISO certified system knowledge; internal auditor experience is a plus.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) required.
• Good math skills and understanding of unit conversions (English/Metric) required.
• Knowledge of basic statistical concepts desirable.
• Knowledge of requirements for a certified environmental system preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform standard and non-routine QC tests including physical and chemical testing.
• Perform resin testing using DSC, TGA, FTIR, Rheometer, melt flow indexer, pycnometer.
• Maintain calibration status of equipment.
• Maintain accurate data records (paper and electronic).
• Prepare and verify data certificates for product shipments; maintain QC document control.
• Collaborate with team; participate in cross-functional teams; lead meetings.
• Communicate professionally by telephone and e-mail.
• Participate in ISO initiatives and safety/environmental practices.
• Maintain a clean, tour-ready lab and contribute to 5S activities.
• Train others as needed and maintain professional relationships.
