Job summary

Tom Trese Networking LLC in the Roanoke area is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor for the night shift at a confidential beverage manufacturer.

The role leads QA on the production floor and in the laboratory to ensure products meet food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. You’ll develop your team, evaluate testing results, support audits, and work with plant departments to improve processes and maintain quality.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or comparable college/technical education in biology, chemistry, food science or related discipline.
• 1–3 years of relevant work experience in manufacturing.
• Manufacturing experience and knowledge of food industry practices.
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment and testing in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical, math, and problem‑solving skills.
• Effective communication, organization, and team development skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced production setting.
• Availability to work the stated overnight schedule, with flexibility for additional coverage.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, walk production floors, climb stairs, and lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA personnel, set daily priorities, and communicate quality and safety expectations.
• Develop team members through coaching, training, and feedback.
• Partner with Production and other departments to address quality concerns and food safety.
• Oversee QA programs, documentation, training, and internal audits.
• Support regulatory, certification, customer, and product specifications compliance.
• Review lab results for accuracy, investigate exceptions, and identify trends.
• Recommend process improvements based on testing data and quality performance.
• Prepare for and assist with internal audits and external assessments.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts to strengthen product quality and customer satisfaction.
