Glanbia in West Haven, CT is seeking an Assistant Production Manager to lead daily manufacturing operations, develop people, and drive safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

This role collaborates with Warehouse, Quality, Planning, Purchasing and other plant functions to ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and on time while fostering accountability and excellence.

5+ years of manufacturing leadership and experience in regulated environments are preferred.

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience.
• Experience in food, nutrition, supplement, pharmaceutical, or related regulated manufacturing environments.
• Proven leadership experience managing and developing production teams.
• Strong understanding of safety, quality, and continuous improvement principles.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Aufgaben

• Promote a behavior based safety culture with a goal of creating a zero risk workplace.
• Drive continuous improvement using GPS process and a zero loss environment.
• Maintain high quality standards and zero error tolerance by adhering to SOPs.
• Member of the HACCP team and participates in food safety meetings.
• Food safety responsibilities include following designations; receiving, storing, and allergen control procedures; act as the Sanitation Supervisor and trained on housekeeping SOPs.
• Develop production budget and monitor variance to budget.
• Oversee proper document, label and packaging controls from reweighs through packaging.
• Minimize product loss and packaging material waste.
• Create and maintain programs designed towards motivating employees.
• Reviews production orders or schedules to plan department operations.
• Directs, coordinates, and evaluates manufacturing department functions and staff.
• Handles interviewing, hiring, training, performance appraisals, and personnel issues with HR.
• Establishes production priorities and sequences; coordinates activities to meet specs.
• Reviews reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems.
• Inspects machines/equipment for performance and utilization.
• Implements standard operating practices and ensures compliance.
• Regular attendance is essential.
• Ensure after hours response for outages and emergencies.
• Provide direction to staff; monitor labor hours and time cards; assign duties; conduct annual reviews.
• Maintains production records and onboarding processes.
• Counsels or disciplines as needed.
