Job summary

AdventHealth Riverview in Florida is seeking a dedicated laboratory professional to perform point of care testing, blood collection, specimen handling, and related duties in a fast-paced hospital laboratory.

Qualifications

• Technical skills related to laboratory procedures.
• Strong English communication, spoken and written.
• Ability to learn computer applications and hospital systems.
• Ability to handle confidential information.
• Ability to work with varied backgrounds.
• Phlebotomy knowledge and blood collection skills.
• Basic typing skills (30 wpm) preferred.

Responsibilities

• May perform point of care testing and quality control.
• Collects patient and test order information for accounts.
• May perform blood specimen collection (phlebotomy) for all ages.
• Receives, processes and transports specimens and prepares preanalytical steps.
• Maintains equipment cleaning, inventory and safety procedures.
• Trains new staff and supports education of clinical staff.
