What would I be doing?

Located just east of downtown Kansas City, Ameristar Casino Hotel Kansas City is a Midwestern entertainment hub offering something for everyone. It features one of the largest casino floors in Missouri, excellent dining venues, a newly renovated luxury hotel, and more. The hotel provides convenient parking in a five-level, 2,660-space parking structure with an enclosed, climate-controlled walkway to the casino and entertainment center. Ameristar is seeking a Housekeeping Night Porter.

The Housekeeping Night Porter is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and condition of assigned guest rooms and assisting in the smooth operation of Housekeeping. The role also involves providing attentive, courteous, and efficient service to all guests and staff.

Responsibilities

1. Provide superior customer service, positively influencing interactions with guests and colleagues, and handle difficult situations with resilience.
2. Perform cleaning duties in all assigned areas, including rooms, hallways, vending areas, guest landings, stairwells, service landings, maid closets, and other designated spaces, according to established standards.
3. Remove used laundry and trash from rooms.
4. Assist guests with questions or issues to ensure satisfaction.
5. Use proper cleaning techniques, equipment, and chemicals, adhering to safety standards.
6. Report facility issues such as structural, equipment, or plumbing problems to the dispatcher.
7. Ensure rooms are stocked with necessary supplies and complete soft good rotation every three months.
8. Participate in departmental projects as needed.
9. Maintain cleanliness and organization of maid closets.
10. Verify incoming orders for accuracy.
11. Keep detailed logs of items delivered or removed from rooms for record-keeping.
12. Operate in environments with varying noise levels, crowds, smoke, and ozone machines depending on business volume.
13. Move efficiently between floors as required.
14. Physically capable of lifting and moving up to 75 pounds to perform cleaning duties.
15. Be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
