Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, IA, is seeking a Polysomnographic Technician for night shifts to perform nocturnal PSGs and train sleep interns as needed.

This full‑time role offers a $7,500 sign‑on bonus and requires ABR/BSPT registration or a related field, CEU maintenance, and Iowa licensure eligibility. Two years PSG experience is preferred, with strong patient care and safety focus.

Qualifications

• Must be registered by the American Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists or related field with ability to apply for Sleep medicine certification.
• Must be current in CEUs.
• Two years PSG experience preferred in sleep disorder setting.

Responsibilities

• Performs polysomnographic data acquisitions while monitoring study quality and reporting signal abnormalities.
• Follows procedural protocols (MSLT, CPAP and oxygen titration) to ensure data collection.
• Cleans electrodes, CPAP masks, patient rooms and equipment; prepares for sterilization as needed.
• Reviews orders/medical history and communicates with ordering physician/Medical Director as necessary.
• Administers medications and supplemental oxygen as directed by physician.
• Recognizes and responds to serious medical problems per protocol and notifies on‑call physician.
