Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, IA, seeks a Polysomnographic Technician for the night shift. The role includes performing nocturnal PSGs, CPAP and oxygen titration, and training sleep interns. A $7,500 sign-on bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• Two years of PSG experience preferred in a sleep disorder setting.
• Must be registered by the American Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists or Board Registered in a related field with the ability to apply and pass for a certificate in Sleep medicine.
• Must be current in CEU’s.
• Iowa licensure required by Iowa Department of Public Health.

Responsibilities

• Performs polysomnographic data acquisitions while monitoring study quality.
• Follow procedural protocols (MSLT, CPAP and oxygen titration).
• Cleans electrodes, CPAP mask, patient room and equipment; prepare for sterilization.
• Reviews orders, medications, medical history; assesses parameters to monitor and communicates with physician.
• Administers medications and supplemental oxygen as directed by physician.
• Recognizes and responds to medical problems per protocol and notifies on-call physician.
