Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Graduate of an accredited Phlebotomy Program or one year of specimen collection experience
• Computer experience

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collection procedures and related tasks.
• Verify order requests and identifying information prior to drawing blood.
• Label specimens and deliver to processing area.
• Follow venipuncture procedures and maintain log sheets.
• Greet patients warmly at check-in/outpatient desks.
• Enter test requests and receive specimens using the lab computer.
• Process specimens and send out tasks: accessioning, centrifugation, packaging.
• Communicate essential information to appropriate personnel.
• Transport blood and lab supplies to appropriate areas.
