Job summary

The Cleveland Clinic Independence Family Health Center is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician for a PRN position. You will join a patient-focused medical laboratory team, collecting blood samples, aiding in specimen transport, and floating to multiple locations as needed.

Responsibilities include verifying orders, labeling specimens, and performing basic processing tasks while upholding safety and accuracy. Weekend availability is required; shifts run 4:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Formal phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Technical proficiency with standard phlebotomy procedures and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collection procedures, follow venipuncture procedures and maintain appropriate log sheets.
• Verify order requests and identifying information prior to drawing blood or collecting the specimen/kit.
• Label all specimens collected and deliver them to the appropriate processing area.
• Perform specimen processing and send out tasks, including accessioning, centrifugation and packaging.
• Pick up and deliver blood, other sample types and lab supplies.
• Float to multiple locations.
