Job summary

Knoxville Hospital and Clinics in Knoxville, IA is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join the nursing care team in a full‑time night shift (6pm‑6:30am) with every 3rd weekend (7pm‑7:30am). The PCT provides clerical and receptionist support on the unit and assists RNs/LPNs with patient care.

You must have a high school diploma, a 75-hour nurse aide course, and current BCLS. Prior patient care, telephone and clerical experience are required, along with strong empathy, customer service, and the

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification from a 75-hour nurse aide course on hire.
• Previous patient care, telephone and clerical experience required.
• Current BCLS certification and ability to read/write instructions.
• Must display empathy and kindness toward patients and visitors.
• Able to follow directions from nursing staff and complete competencies.

Responsibilities

• Promptly answers calls and routes them appropriately.
• Maintain calm, professional atmosphere for patients and visitors.
• Aid patients with activities of daily living.
• Perform nursing and non-nursing tasks as directed.
• Identify problems and communicate them to the team.
• Work with health care team to provide clean, safe environment.
• Demonstrate competence in Ward Clerk responsibilities.
• Provide nutritional/hydration support and assist with personal care.
