Job summary

Knoxville Hospital and Clinics is seeking a Patient Care Technician/Unit Clerk for overnight shifts (6pm-6:30am) with every 3rd weekend (7pm-7:30am). The PCT/UC supports nursing staff, handles clerical tasks, and ensures patient comfort on the unit.

Requires a high school diploma, CNA (75 hours) certification, prior patient care/clerical experience, and current BCLS certification. This full-time role offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Certification from at least a 75-hour nurse aide course on hire.
• Previous patient care, telephone, clerical and computer experience required.
• Current BCLS certification and ability to read, write, and follow instructions.
• Must acquire Mandatory Reporter certification within three months of hire.
• Empathetic, friendly, and customer-service oriented.
• Ability to take directions from nursing supervisors and maintain professional demeanor.
• Complete annual competency training and maintain licenses/certifications.

Responsibilities

• Promptly answers telephone calls and routes call appropriately.
• Reflect an atmosphere of calmness and professionalism to patients and visitors.
• Aid the patient in carrying out ADLs.
• Performs nursing and non-nursing tasks.
• Record vital signs and report abnormalities.
• Assist nurses with treatments and procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and pleasant environment.
• Adhere to infection control standards and maintain certifications.
