Job summary

North Knoxville Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Patient Care Technician for the Nights Full Time shift in Powell, TN. The role involves assisting with activities of daily living, monitoring vital signs, and ensuring a safe patient environment under RN/LPN supervision.

The PCT will support with meals, hygiene, mobility, specimen collection, and documentation. Requirements include BCLS within 90 days of hire, CNA or CPCT preferred, and 0–2 years in acute care or active nursing studies.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years experience in an acute care setting or currently enrolled in a Nursing program preferred.
• Basic knowledge of patient care practices and equipment.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff in delivering care and maintaining a clean, safe environment.
• Record vital signs and report to RN/LPN/LVN.
• Support patients with meals, bathing, grooming, and mobility.
• Assist with positioning, ambulation, and use of mobility aids.
• Collect urine/stool samples and perform finger-stick glucose monitoring.
• Communicate patient information clearly to the care team.
• Adhere to infection control guidelines and PPE usage.
