Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Patient Monitor for our Sitter Unit, at RWJ Somerset in New Jersey. This part-time night shift position (11:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.) requires 40 hours per week, with every other weekend and some holidays.

As a Patient Monitor, you will observe patients, report changes to the nurse, assist with activities of daily living, maintain patient safety, and ensure privacy and infection control in a busy unit.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) through American Heart Association

Responsibilities

• Observes and reports patient's conditions, behavior, and complaints to the nurse.
• Follows suicidal precautions and close observation monitoring policies and procedures.
• Maintains patient confidentiality in all interactions.
• Assists patients with daily living activities (feeding, dressing, hygiene).
• Transfers, escorts, transports, and ambulates patients.
• Ensures correct patient ID bands and facilitates safe patient handling.
