Job summary

Endeavor Health in Arlington Heights, IL, is seeking a Unit Secretary/Patient Care Technician - Critical Care to join our nights team. This full-time role supports nursing staff and helps ensure timely patient care and documentation.

You will perform equipment orders, patient data entry, ADL assistance, vital signs collection, and coordination with physicians, under RN supervision. Nights, 36 hours/week, every other weekend, with opportunities for growth within a Magnet-designated system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required or 5 years’ CNA/PCT experience with 3 years’ minimum in acute care.
• Completion of Accredited Certified Nursing Assistance course, EMT or paramedics training, or current nursing program enrollment with at least one major clinical rotation completed.
• Current CPR certification from American Heart Association.
• Data entry or order entry experience on a computer preferred.

Responsibilities

• Orders special care equipment for the patient using unit protocol and hospital computer systems.
• Analyzes documents to ensure department requirements met before entering orders or sending documents to HIM for scanning.
• Continuously updates electronic medical information vital for patient care.
• Ensures unit-specific patient charges are entered into the information system when applicable.
• Triages physician and inter-department questions and resolves or refers to appropriate staff.
