Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Part-time Patient Service Representative to join the Revenue Cycle team. This per diem role supports night shifts from 7pm to 7am and requires availability to work a minimum of 32 hours per month, with extra shifts as needed to cover department needs.

The PSR will capture patient demographics, insurance information, and financial responsibility, ensuring accurate data and compliant processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Ability to work in a high stress, fast-paced environment.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficient with computer systems including EPIC EMR.
• Knowledge of health insurance basics and patient financial responsibilities.
• Ability to work night shifts 7pm–7am and minimum 32 hours per month.

Responsibilities

• Create the initial electronic health record foundation to support care and billing.
• Check in and register patients; verify demographics, guarantor and insurance info; collect co-pays.
• Discuss and explain insurance coverage and refer to Financial Advocates when needed.
• Schedule appointments and coordinate cancellations and recalls.
• Greet patients, answer calls, and provide information and assistance to patients and visitors.
• Monitor electronic health record queues and follow department processes.
