Job summary

MultiCare is seeking a part-time Patient Access Technician in Spokane Valley to ensure accurate admissions and registrations. The role involves completing inpatient registrations, obtaining bed assignments, and ensuring proper forms with attention to policy and regulatory requirements.

The position requires conducting patient interviews, verifying insurance information, and determining the need for financial assistance in collaboration with the Financial Counselor as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a health vocational program in Patient Access or Medical Billing & Insurance.
• Alternatively, 1 year of healthcare admissions/registration experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure complete and accurate patient admissions/registrations per policy and regulations.
• Obtain inpatient bed assignments and process admission including arm banding and forms.
• Pre-admit all scheduled inpatients, outpatients and ambulatory patients.
• Enter admission details in computer system and notify other areas.
• Conduct bedside or telephone interviews to collect demographic and insurance information.
• Perform eligibility verification and determine financial assistance needs.
