Job summary

Central Transport is seeking an Operations Supervisor in Pittsburgh, PA to oversee terminal dock operations, manage drivers and dock staff, and drive production efficiency.

Responsibilities include supervising unloading, forklift traffic, load planning, and ensuring adherence to safety and DOT/OSHA standards. The ideal candidate will have transportation or cross-docking experience, strong leadership, and a passion for service excellence.

Qualifications

• Experience in transportation, cross docking, or shipping/receiving environment (LTL preferred).
• Strong leadership and teamwork abilities.
• High aptitude for technology and process improvement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operations for designated section of the terminal dock.
• Manage unloading, forklift traffic, and palletized freight sorting.
• Direct up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to meet production schedules.
• Use independent judgment to build loads based on labor and freight levels.
• Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring cube and trailer weight.
