Job summary

Central Transport is seeking an Operations Supervisor in Pittsburgh, PA to oversee terminal dock operations, unload, manage forklift traffic, and ensure efficient picking and sorting of palletized freight.

You will lead up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel, using independent judgment to optimize loads, monitor cube/weight, and ensure safety and KPI attainment. Strong communication and tech aptitude are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Experience in transportation, crossdocking, or shipping/receiving within LTL environment.
• Strong leadership qualities and the ability to manage teams.
• Desire to deliver excellent customer service and work with technology.
• High aptitude for technology and multitasking while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operations for designated terminal dock section.
• Unloading, forklift traffic management, and supervising picking/Sortation of freight.
• Manage up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to meet production schedules.
• Use independent judgment to build loads based on labor and freight levels.
• Ensure proper loading of carriers by monitoring cube and trailer weight.
• Provide leadership and accountability to drivers, dockworkers, and dockhand.
• Monitor dock production and ensure KPI goals are met or exceeded.
• Monitor hours and overtime; maintain safe work environment per DOT/OSHA.
