Job summary

Central Transport LLC in Cincinnati, OH seeks a Terminal Operations Leader to oversee a designated dock section during a 5:30pm–3:30am shift. You will supervise loading, forklift traffic, and palletized freight handling, while coordinating up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock staff to hit production goals.

The ideal candidate brings transportation or cross-docking experience, strong leadership, and comfort with technology. An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in transportation, cross docking, or shipping and receiving (LTL preferred).
• Strong leadership qualities.
• Customer service orientation to surround customers with excellence.
• High aptitude for technology.
• Ability to multitask while being detail-oriented.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operations for designated section of the terminal dock.
• This includes loading, managing forklift traffic, and overseeing proper picking/sortation of palletized freight.
• Manage up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to achieve a designated production schedule.
• Utilize independent judgement to build loads based on available labor and freight levels.
• Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring cube and weight of trailers.
• Provide leadership and accountability to a team of drivers, dock workers and dock hand.
• Monitor dock production and KPI goals are met and/or exceeded.
• Monitor hours and overtime.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with DOT/OSHA standards.
• Ensure company operational model compliance.
• Support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers.
