Job summary

DataBank Holdings Ltd. is seeking a Technical Support Engineer – Overnight / Patching Coordinator to own end-to-end patch cycles for Windows and Linux servers across multiple data centers.

The role includes monitoring, incident response, and scheduled maintenance within DataBank’s Managed Services environment. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in IT, hands-on experience with VMware vSphere and patch management tools, and comfortable working an overnight shift.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years in IT with 2+ years on Windows or Linux.
• Experience with VMware vSphere/vCenter.
• Hands-on patch management using BigFix or Ansible.
• Experience with scheduled maintenance and change control.

Responsibilities

• Patch management for Windows and Linux during overnight maintenance windows.
• Apply OS security patches and hotfixes using BigFix, Ansible, or equivalents.
• Validate patch deployment and document outcomes.
• Coordinate with day-shift and change management for pre-approval.
• Monitor overnight systems and respond to incidents and escalations.
• Maintain patching logs and contribute to monthly compliance reports.
• Troubleshoot VMware and network issues and support outage resolutions.
• Perform backup verification and restoration testing as needed.
