Job summary

Airgas is hiring an Operations Expediter in Star, MS for night shifts. The role oversees daily yard and distribution activities, ensuring safe loading/unloading, asset maintenance, and regulatory compliance.

You will work with Branch and Plant managers to keep operations efficient and safe, while managing schedules and labor coverage. Preferred candidates hold an Associate’s degree and forklift certification, with 3+ years of supervision experience in an industrial setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma plus extensive experience, including three (3) years of supervising 10+ production workers in an industrial setting.
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean/Six Sigma).
• Strong decision-making skills to enforce policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Support and guide daily operational functions in the manufacturing yard, including safe motor vehicle execution and loading/unloading of assets.
• Supervise and balance transportation and vendor schedules to ensure safe traffic flow and policy alignment.
• Coordinate with Production to streamline floor operations and communicate order status and safety metrics.
