Airgas, an Air Liquide company, is hiring an Operations Expediter in Star, MS to oversee yard operations, loading/offloading, and asset management. You will collaborate with Branch and Plant Managers to maintain safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance while guiding daily transportation and vendor scheduling.

The role requires supervising 10+ workers, strong leadership, and hands‑on use of equipment; familiarity with OSHA standards and Lean approaches is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma with 3+ years supervising 10+ production workers in an industrial setting.
• Strong decision‑making to enforce policies, procedures, and fair staff discipline.
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations and Lean/Six Sigma continuous improvement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and math for budgeting and cost control.
• Ability to work safely in a noisy environment and lift 5–50 lb.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations in the manufacturing yard including loading/unloading and site security.
• Balance transportation and vendor schedules to ensure safe traffic flow and policy compliance.
• Collaborate with Production to streamline floor operations and communicate order status.
• Assist with workforce planning, shift scheduling, and staffing coverage.
• Monitor on‑site assets and conduct QA during loading/offloading.
• Identify hazards and coordinate corrective actions with leadership.
• Schedule vehicle/trailer maintenance in partnership with plant leadership.
• Ensure OSHA and Airgas safety policy compliance and continuous improvement.
• Enter inspections data and support audits and special projects.
• Occasionally operate material handling equipment and provide on‑call guidance.
