Job summary

Hartford Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Administrative Nurse Supervisor to guide nursing leadership across shifts. You will supervise nursing staff, ensure patient care meets standards, and participate in quality and safety initiatives within a major teaching hospital.

The role requires an active CT RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications, and progressive leadership experience in acute care settings as you support fast-paced patient care and department operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is required.
• 3 years of acute care charge or supervisory experience is required.
• Critical care or emergency department nursing experience may be required in acute care environments.
• Progressive leadership experience is required.
• Active Registered Nurse license from the State of Connecticut is required.
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
• Certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required.

Responsibilities

• The Patient Care Administrative Nurse Supervisor is responsible for supervising and monitoring the Nursing department on an assigned shift.
• Provides leadership for multiple hospital departments in the absence of the unit manager, director, or administration.
• Ensures delivery of direct and indirect patient care via the Nursing Process.
• Leads quality and safety initiatives aligned with strategic priorities.
• Collaborates with Clinical Logistics Center to optimize bed usage and patient flow.
• Analyzes data and presents reports to leaders and staff.
