Job summary

Mercy Hospital South is seeking a Nursing Supervisor for Neuro Stepdown to coordinate patient placement, staffing, and daily clinical operations. The role provides leadership to nursing staff, oversees clinical activities, and supports operational and quality initiatives within the department.

The Nursing Supervisor may perform direct patient care duties as needed and will interact with physicians, staff, and leadership to ensure high-quality care in a fast-paced neuro stepdown unit.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
• BSN preferred; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient placement and staff assignments to ensure care coverage.
• Supervise daily clinical activities and ensure quality, safety, and standards.
• Assist clinical staff with patient care activities and unit operations as needed.
• Lead staff development, education, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with department manager on budget and staffing decisions.
