Job summary

Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center seeks a Medical Technologist to work nights in the clinical lab. The MT will perform routine to high complexity tests, maintain quality control, troubleshoot instruments, and assist with data collection for compliance.

The role requires a CLS degree and relevant certification with 0–2 years of acute care experience. Expected to participate in phlebotomy and teaching duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related CLS field is required.
• Passing score on the Clinical Laboratory Technology Proficiency exam approved by HHS/HEW is required.
• 0-2 years of acute care experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs moderate and high complexity lab tests accurately and efficiently.
• Adheres to quality control procedures and performs checks and corrective actions.
• Conducts instrument checks and preventative maintenance.
• Troubleshoots instrument malfunctions and coordinates with staff as needed.
• Maintains safety procedures and uses PPE according to policy.
• Communicates test results and issues to staff and supervisors.
• Assists with proficiency testing and data collection for accreditation.
• Performs phlebotomy duties as required and supports patient care.
