Job summary

Memorial Hermann seeks a supplemental Medical Technologist or MLT to support the Alvin Freestanding ER on nights. Schedule is 12 hour shifts on nights. Must be ASCP/AMT MLS or ASCP/AMT MLT.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biological science (Equivalency required for foreign education)
• Licenses/ Certifications: Medical Technologist (ASCP) or MT (AMT)
• Certified MLS (ASCP or ASCP-International)
• Certified CLS (ASCP) OR MLS (ASCP or ASCP-International) CM OR ASCP Certification Eligible
• NAACLS MLS program completion within last 5 years or equivalent credentials or years of experience in related lab areas

Responsibilities

• Performs and documents test results, quality control and maintenance procedures per policy.
• Manages daily lab operations including collections, sample processing, and results distribution.
• Interacts with hospital staff, physicians and patients regarding specimens and results.
• Complies with governmental and accrediting standards (TJC, FDA, CAP, AABB, CMS, CLIA).
• Promotes safe, efficient patient care and supports PI process.
• Adheres to Memorial Hermann policies, time management and budget considerations.
• Acts as a preceptor/mentor to staff and supports department goals.
• Models Memorial Hermann service standards with compassionate, personalized patient experiences.
