Job summary

South Baldwin Medical Group is seeking a Medical Technologist I for full-time night shift. The role performs routine and high complexity laboratory tests on blood and body fluids, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting while supporting patient care.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting instruments, maintaining QC, and assisting in data collection for regulatory compliance. Phlebotomy duties may be required, with opportunities for teaching and team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related field.
• Passing score on the Clinical Laboratory Technology Proficiency exam approved by HHS (HEW).
• 0-2 years of acute care experience required.

Responsibilities

• Performs moderate and high complexity laboratory tests accurately and efficiently.
• Adheres to quality control procedures and documents results and equipment checks.
• Conducts instrument function checks and preventative maintenance on a regular schedule.
• Troubleshoots instrument malfunctions and notifies appropriate personnel or manufacturer as needed.
• Maintains safety protocols and uses appropriate PPE per Laboratory Safety Plan.
• Communicates test results, issues, and QC concerns to supervisors and healthcare staff.
