Job summary

Wellstar Health System in Georgia is seeking a qualified Medical Laboratory Technologist for the night shift 11:30pm–8:00am with rotating weekends. Under supervision, you will perform clinical laboratory testing per approved protocols, maintain equipment and records, and conduct quality assurance activities.

Accuracy, critical thinking, and timely reporting of lab data are essential. You will also assist in supervision/teacher roles within the lab, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field as listed; or Master's in a related field preferred.
• MT(ASCP) / MLS / MB or equivalent certification required on hire.
• Minimum 1 year laboratory experience; preferred for the role.
• Data systems proficiency including LIS, Excel; familiarity with Epic and 3M systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains acceptable accuracy in patient, quality assurance, proficiency, and competency testing.
• Reports lab data accurately within established turnaround times and productivity standards.
• Uses clinical knowledge to analyze, interpret, and report lab data.
• Maintains instrumentation for testing.
• Complies with Wellstar policies and safety standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Participates in Laboratory Performance Improvement initiatives.
