Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist for night shift (11:30pm–8:00am) with rotating weekends. The role involves clinical lab testing, equipment maintenance, quality assurance, and supervising/training within the lab.

Candidates should maintain QA standards, report data promptly, and communicate effectively within the healthcare team. Responsibilities include ensuring correct specimen ID, documenting QA investigations, and participating in performance improvement

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year laboratory experience.
Computer/data entry experience.
Ability to communicate with various members of the healthcare team.
Proficiency with Excel and Word; basic computer literacy.
Licenses and certifications required upon hire as listed.

Responsibilities

Maintains acceptable accuracy for patient, QA, proficiency and competency testing.
Reports lab data accurately within established turnaround times.
Interprets information from multiple sources and relates lab data to clinical findings.
Performs hand-offs and maintains documentation in LIS and QA records.
Supports performance improvement initiatives and inspection readiness.
