Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a Medical Lab Technician to perform routine and specialized diagnostic tests on blood and body fluids.

The role requires adherence to QC standards, proper equipment maintenance, and collaboration with healthcare professionals to provide critical diagnostic information. The MLT will handle phlebotomy assistance, document results, and ensure a safe, compliant work environment during the 7on/7off night shift (7pm-5:30am).

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of laboratory testing principles, procedures, and QC standards.
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining laboratory instruments.
• Ability to analyze QC data and interpret patient results.
• Excellent documentation and record-keeping.
• Effective communication and teamwork in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Performs moderate and high-complexity lab tests with accuracy and timely reporting.
• Adheres to QC protocols, analyzes data, and resolves out-of-range results.
• Operates and maintains instruments, performs preventive maintenance, and reports issues.
• Utilizes lab computer systems for general and section-specific tasks.
• Collects, processes, and documents chain-of-custody urine drug screens as required.
• Ensures lab safety by using PPE and following regulations.
• Assists with phlebotomy and supports departmental tasks.
• Maintains compliant records and statistics per regulatory standards.
