Job summary

OhioHealth is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the Med Surg unit to assist RNs in delivering direct patient care on a designated nursing unit. The role focuses on daily living activities, patient safety, and accurate data collection to support high-quality care.

Responsibilities include basic nursing tasks, telemetry support as needed, and building compassionate relationships with patients and families while maintaining a safe and efficient care environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Night shift with 36 scheduled hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, eating, mobility) and maintain clean, safe rooms.
• Support nursing staff and other departments to care for patients as needed.
• Foster respectful, compassionate relationships to enhance the patient experience for each patient and family.
• Serve as a patient safety champion, promoting safety guidelines among all staff.
• Assist in basic nursing tasks such as glucose testing, urine dipstick, and dressings.
• Accurately collect data (height, weight, vitals, intake/output) and document in the chart.
