Job summary
University Behavioral Health of Denton, part of Universal Health Services, seeks an LVN to provide nursing care for psychiatric patients during the night shift. Under RN and CNO supervision, you will administer medications and support patient treatment plans in a private freestanding hospital setting.
Ideal candidates will have a vocational nursing program diploma, state licensure, and at least 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience.
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited vocational/practical nursing program.
- Minimum one (1) year as an LVN in psychiatric nursing preferred.
- Licensed to practice vocational/practical nursing in the State Board of Nursing.
- Must pass a medication administration exam and CPR certification; Handle with Care training required within 30 days of employment.
Responsibilities
- Take and record vital signs accurately.
- Observe and document changes in patients' appearance, behavior, and progress toward treatment goals.
- Communicate changes in patient condition to the provider and unit nurse.
- Report signs and symptoms of infection to the Charge provider and unit nurse.
