Volunteers of America Los Angeles seeks a Lead Monitor I to coordinate and supervise the shelter's Monitor staff, ensuring safety for clients, visitors and employees. The role includes safety training, role modeling, and driving responsibilities if licensed, with a focus on preventing incidents and maintaining secure premises.

The Lead Monitor I will plan shifts, train team members, monitor shelter safety, screen entrants, and log daily activities.

Qualificações

• Must pass fingerprint clearance and background check
• Ability to perform under emotional stress when working with vulnerable clients
• One year of college coursework or related program (C4C) or homeless services training
• Complete VOALA safety training within 30 days of hire

Responsabilidades

• Assign shifts and supervise Monitors across the shelter
• Train Monitors in safety, security procedures and program operations
• Oversee safety practices and provide ongoing safety leadership
• Screen shelter entrance and bags to protect clients and staff
• Patrol premises and maintain incident records

Formação académica

One year of proven college coursework, or completion of Careers for a Cause (C4C) or other homeless training course with a certificate

Complete Careers for a Cause (C4C) within 60 days of hire

VOALA safety training within 30 days of hire
