Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles is seeking a Lead Monitor I to coordinate, supervise, mentor, and oversee the Monitors’ efforts to provide security and safety for clients, visitors and staff at the program premises. The role emphasizes safety training and ongoing oversight.

On-site duties include scheduling, training, shelter safety, bag screening, patrols, and incident reporting. Driving tasks are included for licensed monitors; strong communication and professionalism are required.

Qualifications

• Must pass fingerprint clearance and background check.
• One year of college coursework or completion of Careers for a Cause (C4C) required.
• Experience in security or human services is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and supervise Monitors; ensure round-the-clock coverage.
• Train Monitors in safety, operations, and procedures.
• Oversee safety practices and provide ongoing leadership.
