Job summary

Providence St Vincent Medical Center in Portland, OR is seeking a Senior Laboratory Assistant for the Part-Time/Night shift (Thu-Fri-Sat, 10pm-6:30am). The role focuses on receiving, processing, labeling specimens and ensuring accurate data flow within a busy clinical lab environment.

Qualifications

• 2 years college education with courses in biological sciences, anatomy, and medical terminology.
• Verifiable experience which includes proficiency in moderately complex testing.
• 3 years Healthcare or related field experience including phlebotomy-related experience.
• Phlebotomy will be required in float pool and some ministries.
• Demonstrated experience with State and Federal and other regulatory Compliance regulations including CMS, CAP, TJC, CLIA, EMTALA, COBRA and HIPAA.

Responsibilities

• Receive, process, and label laboratory specimens and handle patient data and results.
• Support coordination with caregivers, vendors, consultants and Laboratory Services staff.
• Maintain accuracy and timeliness of data and testing workflows.
